What’s new in the SharePoint 2013 Client Side Object Model!

So the question here is: What’s new in SharePoint 2013 CSOM? Well, of course the API is there (in the 15 hive) and Microsoft has increased the possibilities of building applications with the CSOM adding new assemblies that allow developers not only to interact with SharePoint sites but also use some of the key SharePoint 2013 services like Search, Managed Metadata or the new Translation service.

What’s new in Site Collections in SharePoint 2013!

Since Microsoft released SharePoint 2013 public preview some weeks ago, there is continuous information drip about new goodies coming with the new version of the rock star Microsoft platform. While the foundation remains pretty much the same, in this blog post I will focus on some of the cool stuff coming with Site Collections:

  • The deep SharePoint 2013 backwards compatibility with SharePoint 2010
  •  Better support for creating host-named site collections (HNSC)

When I was consulting on Enterprise Content Management technologies, I became very fond of the “pre-mortem” practice, plan ahead for what is probably going to go wrong. Then we’d think of ways we could have prevented the project’s failure—a sort of after-the-fact analysis done beforehand.
